Program Note
Two worlds are presented in this piece – the idyllic and the violent. The idyllic world is characterized by natural horn idioms, while the more violent world invokes sharp rhythms and grinding timbres. The piece seeks reconciliation, or reunion, between the natural and tempered forces at play.
